Breakfast options at Walt Disney World theme parks can be limited. Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom added two new breakfast options to increase guests’ options there.

A day ago, Walt Disney World announced that several new menu items were coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Many changes arrived at Walt Disney World restaurants on October 11, 2023. One example would be the new breakfast options at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery.

Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery resides in the African area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests will pass this stand as they walk towards the Kilimanjaro Safari attraction.

Until this most recent menu change, the breakfast options at Kusafiri were basic. Examples of this would be the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit and the Pistachio Honey Croissant. Now, two new, more exciting-sounding options appear as options for guests looking for breakfast at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They are:

• Egg and Bacon Croissant Sandwich with Tomato Pepper Relish- this features a croissant with a cheese omelet, crispy bacon, and tomato-pepper relish served with potato barrels.
• Breakfast Totchos with Eggs, Bacon, and Cheese- this combines potato barrels, scrambled eggs, nacho cheese sauce, cheese curds, and crumbled bacon.

Kusafiri Coffee Shop: New Egg and Bacon Croissant Sandwich with Tomato Pepper Relish- $8.99

This breakfast sandwich comes with a side of potato barrels. The potato barrels tasted okay but just provide a side.

The croissant will be hard to eat like a sandwich. So, we suggest getting a fork and knife. The flavor of this provides the expected experience. The tomato relish upgrades this breakfast option.

We know it is the first day of serving these new breakfast items. Still, our eggs were not warm when we got the croissant. We made a concerted effort to take photos and quickly eat our breakfast items on this morning. We wanted to avoid a cold breakfast item. That factor hindered this new breakfast item on its opening day at Kusafiri.

Still, we would choose this breakfast option over the standard sausage breakfast biscuit served at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the other Walt Disney World theme parks. Also, we think this makes a better value than the next item we tried at Kusafiri Coffee Shop.

Breakfast Totchos with Eggs, Bacon, and Cheese- 10.79

These breakfast totchos lack the pizazz of the ones at Woody’s Lunch Box over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Also, the portion size is smaller.

We do like the use of actually cheese curd-like product instead of just calling something a cheese curd when it is not. The nacho cheese makes a good touch with this breakfast item. Well, as long as you do not spill it on yourself–oops my bad!

We love having a new non-traditional breakfast option at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. However, this new menu item did not impress us as much as we would have liked. In fairness, our potato barrels were lukewarm at best, which hindered these totchos from tasting better, Also, the bacon and eggs were just average. Of course, you should expect that with a quick service breakfast.

Even though these breakfast options did not blow us away, they both make a good addition to those looking for breakfast at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We would be fine having these again during an early morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
