It will be a busy day for “foodies” at Walt Disney World this Wednesday. In addition to new menu items at three Disney hotel restaurants, Walt Disney World announced several new Disney food options to be released at Animal Kingdom.

For “foodies,” their day was already filled with plenty of new options at Geyser Point, Three Bridges, and Banana Cabana. Today, Walt Disney World announced several new menu items for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, all to be unveiled on the same day as the previously mentioned restaurants.

New Disney Food Options: Harambe Market

new Disney food items

Over in the African area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Harambe Market added a few new menu items. Starting on October 11, 2023, guests can purchase from the four choices of the new bowls menu here. Walt Disney World has been attempting to make the “bowls” entrees stick in several of their quick service options, With Satu’li Canteen offering some of the best bowl-style quick service entrees, this makes a curious choice by Walt Disney World.

The choices are:

  • Chicken and Shrimp Rice Bowl
  • Chicken Rice Bowl
  • Shrimp Rice Bowl

Each dish features jollof rice with kachumbari tomato salad and tzatziki sauce. A kids’ meal version consists of a Shrimp and Rice Bowl with peri peri-marinated shrimp, white rice, and a Cuties Mandarin Orange.

In addition to that, Harambe Market will showcase a few additional options. Those are:

  • Beef and Lamb Kofta Pita-it combines house-made beef and lamb kofta with a tzatziki sauce, chermoula, and house-made chips.
  • Impossible Kofta Pita- this serves as the plant-based version. It includes Impossible kofta accompanied by a plant-based aïoli, chermoula, and house-made chips.
  • Harambe Salad with Chicken- this combines chermoula-marinated chicken with quinoa, grilled corn, black-eyed peas, and crispy chickpeas topped with a tasty chermoula-herbed vinaigrette. You can also get this salad topped with shrimp if you prefer.
  • Mango Passion Fruit Cheesecake- the new dessert at Harmabe Market.

Stuffed Pancake Sandwich

This salty-sweet combination fulfills the role of a new breakfast option at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We noticed during a recent trip there that the park seems to be experimenting with breakfast options. This fits that pattern. It is filled with sausage, guava paste, egg, and cheese. If guava is not your thing, you can get this breakfast sandwich without it. This new item will be available for breakfast at Drinkwallah, Pongu Pongu, Trek Snacks, and select outdoor vending carts.

Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery

new Disney

Kusafiri added a few new breakfast options, as well as some lunch/dinner options starting on October 11, 2023. They are:

  • Egg and Bacon Croissant Sandwich with Tomato Pepper Relish- this features a croissant with a cheese omelet, crispy bacon, and tomato-pepper relish served with potato barrels.
  • Breakfast Totchos with Eggs, Bacon, and Cheese- this combines potato barrels, scrambled eggs, nacho cheese sauce, cheese curds, and crumbled bacon. We will see if these hold up in comparison to the ones at Woody’s Lunch Box at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
  • Plant-based Impossible Gatsby- fills a pita pocket with plant-based picadillo, tomato-pepper relish, and crispy potato sticks and tops it off with a plant-based aïoli. Served with house made chips.
  • Harissa Chicken Wrap- brings together harissa chicken salad with vegetables and an avocado spread rolled in a spinach tortilla. Served with homemade chips

New Disney Food Options: Pongu Pongu at Pandora – The World of Avatar

Pongu Pongu will have the Stuffed Pancake Sandwich for breakfast. However, starting Wednesday, it will add a new Cinnamon Roll

New Disney Food Options: Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Items at Flame Tree Barbecue and Pizzafari

Flame Tree Barbecue, a quick service option at Animal Kingdom, adds some new items this week. We wonder if, contractually, they cannot call these new entrée- poutine. They are:

  • Impossible Burnt Ends- a plant-based dish featuring alternative meat and fries with slaw on the side
  • French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese- a non-vegan version with pulled pork over fries.

New Disney Food Options: Pizzafari

Pizzafari joins in on the fun for October 11. The two new menu items here will be:

  • Plant-based Italian Sausage- served alongside a side salad with Italian dressing.
  • Antipasto Side Salad- this new side will give guests more choices with their meals.

Tamu Tamu Refreshments

new Disney food items

Tamu Tamu, located in the heart of Harambe Village provides some new sweet treats starting October 11, 2023. Those treats include three alcoholic versions for those aged 21 or older:

  • Dole Whip Orange Soda Float- with strawberry syrup on top.
  • Dole Whip Float with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum currently
  • Dole Whip Hard Cider Float featuring DOLE Whip
  • ACE Pineapple Craft Cider.
