As mentioned, Walt Disney World has released a food guide for the gingerbread house displays during the 2023 holiday season. Walt Disney World announced that some of these displays have returned for the holidays for more than 20 years, like the Gingerbread House found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. However, other gingerbread houses are making their debut for the very first time this year, like the Lighthouse coming to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Disney said it is no surprise visiting these works of art has become a tradition for both guests and cast members alike. With plenty of hidden details and maybe even some hidden Mickeys, guests can come back again and again to experience these gingerbread creations.

We will start with the classic gingerbread house display at Walt Disney World. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Last year, we visited this display on its opening day. The preparation for this gingerbread display starts many months in advance.

This location creates a life-sized gingerbread house. This tradition returns for its 24th year from November 8 through January 1, 2024. As usual, it will be filled with plenty of sweet delights and decorations.

Across this house, guests will find white chocolate candy canes, edible snowflakes, sugar poinsettias, and over 10,000 pieces of gingerbread. Of course, there will be the iconic 85 lb. chocolate Santa Claus. Guests can see and purchase nutcrackers, toy soldiers, and snowmen that are all hand-painted by the Grand Floridian Bakery team led by Pastry Chef de Cuisine Kristine Farmer. The 500 hours spent baking gingerbread and 480 hours spent decorating will be evident. Disney said to be on the lookout for the 24 hidden Mickeys found throughout the entire display to see if you can find them all.
