In the USA, Memorial Day weekend functions as an unofficial start to summer. I realize that officially summer is still a few weeks away. However, with most school sessions taking a summer break currently, the summer crowds start visiting Orlando area theme parks. Also, guests should expect more humidity and high temperatures due to summer heat. Please make sure to hydrate during the next several months. People passing out from dehydration happens more than you expect. Make sure to have some water with each of this week’s “Top 3” suggestions.
Today, I will start at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen. With May 31st being “National Macaroon Day”, Toothsome makes a great option. The plethora of macaroons offered here will occupy much of your time if you want to try all of them. If you have a favorite flavor, you are bound to find a Toothsome macaroon of that variety. Since the macaroon food holiday lobby made sure June 3rd serves as “National Chocolate Macaroon Day, Toothsome has those also.
Our second stop takes us to Universal Studios Florida. Recently, Central Park Crepes changed their menu (again). A new vegan option appeared here. This “Vegan Berry Crepe” provides a sweet crepe meeting vegan dining standard. The flavor and freshness of the fruit makes this a great choice for dining. For a larger review, click here.
Finally, we return to CityWalk this week. In early June, we have National Doughnut Day. If we are talking about doughnuts at Universal Orlando, Voodoo Doughnuts should start the conversation. I respect other places in Universal Orlando exist to get doughnuts. Still, the theming at Voodoo Doughnuts added to quality product makes this a great option for this food holiday. For this “Top 3” list, I suggest the “Maple Bar.” Based on a recent extensive taste test of the majority of Voodoo Doughnuts, this doughnut might provide the best flavor and value at any theme park resort for a doughnut. In addition, this bar/doughnut costs $1.75 currently. The maple flavor shines with this doughnut.
Thanks as always for taking this tour of “Top 3” food suggestions for the week. With the opening of the summer retro themed Tribute Store and some more “Welcome Back Summer” food items arriving at Universal Studios Florida, next few week’s installments should be full of fun summer food items.
As always, eat like you mean it!
