For whatever reason, Marvel is determined to keep Ms. Marvel alive in the comics. After joining the X-MEN earlier this year in Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant, Kamala Khan is getting a sequel series rather than another reboot.

According to Superhero Hype, Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace is a direct sequel to the earlier comics. Both Sabir Pirzada and Iman Vellani will return to write the limited series.

Considering Vellani is very much the real-life Kamala Khan, both in the MCU and in her enthusiasm for the character, this could finally be the push the character needed to gain wider popularity.

Marvel Comics

“Her upcoming adventure will take her back to Jersey City, where she’ll have to confront another FALL OF X-related threat, while dealing with the fallout of being outed as a mutant. Balancing both will bring Kamala Khan into contact with more X-Men (as well as iconic X-Men villains) and reunite her with key supporting players of her own, including a fan-favorite ex.

The series will be limited to only four issues, the first of which will go on sale on March 6th, 2024. Scott Godlewski has been tapped to do the panels, while Carlos Gómez is doing the cover art for at least the first issue.

Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace will explore how Kamala’s community will treat her now that she has become a mutant and a member of the X-MEN. There’s a lot of potential there, but can it be nuanced enough to escape the pitfalls other MARVEL books have fallen into over the past decade?

Considering The Marvels flopped in theatres, the MCU could do a soft reboot of Kamala Khan and turn the character into a Mutant. As Iman Vellani was the best part of that trainwreck, it would be a crime not to put her in a better MCU movie or TV series.

In the comments section below, let us know your thoughts on Kamala Kahn and Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace.
