A new limited-time burger arrived this week at D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs. Does the new Beef Wellington Burger make the cut? We went to give it a try.

D-Luxe Burger

In the past, we have not been the biggest fans of D-Luxe Burger. We often suggest guests wanting a quick service burger at Disney Springs visit Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew for the burger there over this location. Our standard concern about dining relates to the fact that with a regular order of fries and a beverage, the average meal costs about $25 here.

However, Disney Springs announced on its social media that there was a new burger alert. The social media post stated, “The Beef Wellington Burger just debuted at D-Luxe Burger. This limited-time specialty burger features two-pressed signature-blend patties, crispy prosciutto, mushroom duxelles, Gruyère cheese, and horseradish aïoli on a herbed puff pastry bun.”

The online D-Luxe Burger menu shows that the new Beef Wellington Burger involves some unique ingredients. Also, we were intrigued by the fact that this burger costs $13.99. This price fits in with the average price point of the everyday burgers on the menu at D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs.

D-Luxe Burger

If you are unfamiliar with D-Luxe Burger or have just missed it while walking around Disney Springs, D-Luxe Burger shares characteristics with many fast-casual burger places. This place offers some quality burgers ranging from traditional classics to things that border on too adventurous for most. Each burger or sandwich comes served on a tasty bun made in-house. All the fries are hand-cut and come with your choice of dipping sauces.

D-Luxe Burger can be found in the Town Center section of Disney Springs. It is located along the “Disney” springs that cut through the Town Center and Landing sections of Disney World’s shopping, entertainment, and dining complex. It is near Zara and the Disney Welcome Center.

D-Luxe Burger offers mobile ordering like several other Disney Springs counter service options. However, the limited-time offering of this new Beef Wellington Burger was unavailable for mobile orders when we tried it. We also noticed that the limited-time Pumpkin Pie Shake was unavailable for mobile orders.

We went to the counter and ordered with no problem. At this counter service option, after you order, they bring the food and beverage to you after you are seated.

The Beef Wellington Burger plays into the idea of the actual “Wellington,” with a flaky pastry-like bun surrounding the burger and other contents. We found the burger offered more positives than negatives.

The sauce and cheese merge to create an excellent complimentary flavor for the burger patty. Speaking of the burger patty, we thought for a fast-casual burger, this one came well prepared. We might still prefer other burger preparations elsewhere, but this one holds up nicely. The mushroom duxelles could have been better. Still, we thought they complimented the burger well.

Weaknesses of the Beef Wellington Burger

On the less positive side, this burger comes with a bit more of a greasy feel than we expected. The pastry bun works well. Nevertheless, the pastry-style bun does not hold up very well for this burger. It started to fall apart after our first bite. The herbs within the pastry-style bun helped make this a more unique burger. However, we thought the herbs acted as a neutral part of the flavor profile of this burger.

Despite that, we felt this burger made a nice addition to the menu at D-Luxe Burger. Some members of our group thought they would come back and order this again. Even with some negatives (as all things have in life), we found this burger provides flavor worth the price at Disney Springs. Still, we have no official word on how long this will be at D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs. As always, eat like you mean it!
