Normal character meet and greets have returned to the Walt Disney World Resort! This is welcome return to normalcy at the resort. With the return of these meet and greets, more rare characters have been popping up around the resort.

Disney announced that Animal Kingdom will be celebrating Earth Day from April 18-24. With that it seems that a rare character is now meeting guests, “Gypsy,” the moth from “A Bug’s Life.” As of now, her meeting place is near “It’s Tough to Be a Bug!” No word has been released on if this a seasonal meet and greet.

Gypsy is described as “a gypsy moth with a colorful pattern on either side of her wings. She is Manny’s lovely assistant. She works at the circus as part of her husband’s magic act,” from Pixar fandom.

WDWNT noted that the word “gypsy” is an offensive slur to the Romani people. The name of the moth has since been changed to the spongy moth.

Are you excited about the return of normal meet and greets? Are you thrilled that you’ll be able to hug your favorite characters again?
