Epcot’s Liberty Inn To Close for New Smokehouse Restaurant

If you are a fan of the Liberty Inn at the American Adventure Pavilion you need to visit quickly as it will close on July 8th to make room for a new craft beer and BBQ restaurant.

The replacement will be called Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue (what is with Disney and the long names lately.) I’ll just call it the Regal Eagle.

This new restaurant experience will be a modern barbecue smokehouse instead of the colonial inspired Liberty Inn.  A large smoker will be added to the “pavilion’s promenade.” A redesigned patio will also be available for guests to relax at.

I’m totally for updating and freshening things up, but this is sad for me. This is one of the places my family would frequent when I was growing up and taking trips to Walt Disney World.  When the whole feel of the pavilion has always been colonial, it’s odd to have a “modern smokehouse” dropped in the middle of it.

But, we are up for trying something new and I have a family here who love BBQ! So we’ll give it a try.

No word on when this new eatery will open, but we will keep you posted.
