Disney Parks Blog announced that the limited runs of the Main Street Electrical Parade and Disneyland Forever will end on September 1st at the Disneyland Resort.

The Main Street Electrical Parade returned to the Disneyland Resort for the parade’s 50th Celebration Anniversary. Guests have enjoyed this limited nighttime run of this iconic light parade at Disneyland Park. There have been new floats and characters added to the parade for this run including the addition of characters from the hit 2021 Disney film, Encanto.

Disneyland Forever is the nighttime castle fireworks show at Disneyland Park. This 14 minute fireworks spectacular also features a brilliant soundtrack, use of pyrotechnics, and astounding visual effects on different Disneyland landmarks including the castle, It’s a Small World, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

The Disneyland Resort will continue its other nighttime shows, World of Color at Disney’s California Adventure and Fantasmic at Disneyland Park after the end of the aforementioned limited run nighttime shows.

Both World of Color and Fantasmic are fantastic nighttime shows that will entertain guests at the end of their park day. However, both Disneyland Forever and the Main Street Electrical Parade are iconic shows that guests will truly miss.

I personally am sad that both Disneyland Forever and the Main Street Electrical Parade will not be in operation when I visit the Disneyland Resort in mid September. However, I have heard guests speculating or hoping that the Main Street Electrical Parade will make its way back to the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort for the 50th Anniversary celebration. This is merely guest hopes and speculation and not fact. We don’t know what the future holds for the Main Street Electrical Parade, but I’m sure this isn’t the last time we will be able to experience this nighttime spectacle.

Are you sad to see the Main Street Electrical Parade and Disneyland Forever go at the Disneyland Resort? Let us know in the comments!
