Could Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe be up for a part in the MCU? Is the London-born actor cut out to play the dangerous Canadian mutant Wolverine?

In a Vanity Fair Lie Detector Test segment with Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez, the former Harry Potter actor was quizzed about the recent rumors regarding his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has been speculated that Radcliffe was being courted to play the popular X-MEN mutant.

When asked by Groff if Radcliffe started the “Wolverine Rumor,”  he responded, “No.” The follow-up question about his recent fitness regimen may be tied to the role. However, the actor vehemently denied the connection, stating, “I got buff … because I am obsessive … You’ve seen my parents; they’re like insane fitness people. So, that has just been passed on. But, yeah. No Wolverine. Flattered, but no.”

The rumor that Radcliffe may play the short, mean-tempered Logan has been swirling for some time. During an IGV Presents interview he took part in with Sandra Bullock for The Lost City, the actress insisted that the Wolverine cast people to reach out to Daniel. To this, the actor expressed no desire whatsoever to be attached to the mega-franchise.

It’s understandable not to want to try to fill the shoes that Hugh Jackman has been wearing since 2000. However, seeing a whole new take on the character would be interesting since the Fox version wasn’t exactly faithful to the comic book counterpart.

Although we thought that Jackman was done with the role after 2017’s Logan film, the actor decided to reprise his role and don the long-awaited yellow suit for the upcoming third Deadpool movie. Maybe this will be the actor’s last time with the claws?
