Banana Cabana functions as the popular pool bar at Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World. Along with many other restaurants, Banana Cabana added new menu items. We tried the new Banana Cabana Burger. What did we think?
Banana Cabana adds to the island vibes of Disneyās Caribbean Beach Resort. Seating is outdoors, but every seat is protected from sun and weather conditions.
Banana Cabana added several new items to its menu on October 11, 2023. The Banana Cabana Burger is one of those new items. We gave it a try. You can read more about the other new items here and at the Geyser Point and Three Bridges lounge here.
Banana Cabana Burger- $19.00
The menu description for the Banana Cabana Burger reads, āCaribbean Barbecue, Tomatillo -JalapeƱo Cream Cheese, and Pineapple Salsa with Plantain Crunch served with French Fries.ā Though we are intrigued by this new burger, we no longer see the Impossible Market Burger on the menu at Banana Cabana. In fact, we do not see any plant-based options, except a salad, on the menu now.
If you plan to dine here with anyone on a vegetarian or vegan diet, then only a standard-style salad exists on the menu for them. This sounds problematic. However, the Centertown Market food court area at Disneyās Caribbean Beach Resort is not far from Banana Cabana. It offers a few plant-based options.
Also, Banana Cabana and several other Walt Disney World restaurants struggle with keeping accurate prices on their menu, especially lately. For example, as we write this blog, the online menu at Banana Cabana does not reflect the price charged at this lounge. Walt Disney World is notoriously slow about updating the menus online or notifying food and beverage cast members about changes to the pricing.
Positives of Banana Cabana Burger
Despite that, the Banana Cabana Burger offers several positives for visitors to this pool bar. For guests looking for a more unique burger, this one might fulfill that desire. The Banana Cabana Burger comes with a hearty style bun. The bun looks to overwhelm the burger patty a little. Still, we found that the burger patty offered good seasoning and excellent preparation.
Some guests ordering this burger may not notice the burger patty as much due to the unique toppings. This burger comes with a Caribbean barbecue sauce, tomatillo-jalapeno cream cheese, and pineapple salsa on top of the burger patty. Below the burger patty, guests encounter plantain chips.
As you might imagine, many things are going on for your taste buds with this new burger at Banana Cabana. We felt that if you got a bit of each component, this burger showed off some Disney quality. However, we experienced some inconsistencies with the toppings hindering this burger. Also, the burger presents some theme park-level spice. Nevertheless, that spice level should not overwhelm diners.
Order This Again?
Overall, we found this burger good but not great. Would we race over to Banana Cabana to have this again? We would not order this again, especially with Walt Disney World’s consistent pricing issues. Still, if you are staying at Disneyās Caribbean Beach Resort, this could make a reasonable option for those hanging around their resort hotel for the day. As always, eat like you mean it!
