Top Three Things You Should Be Eating at Universal Orlando This Week (May 1st, 2022)

The month of May has arrived. As you might expect, this month offers lots of food holidays to celebrate. Universal Orlando created a wonderful theme park resort to partake in cuisines for almost any food holiday. This week’s installment of “Top 3” will take us from one full-service dining option at Universal Orlando Resort to another. At Universal Orlando, sit-down dining with a server taking your order qualifies as full service. Yes, in other settings, this might be called table service dining.

First stop takes us back to Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen in the CityWalk area. On May 5th, someone declared it “National Chocolate Custard Day.” I have nothing against chocolate custard. Still, that does not sound very exciting. Toothsome offers many desserts such sundaes and milkshakes. In addition, they serve a “Chocolate Crème Brule” for $8. This vegetarian item comes as a creamy chocolate custard with a caramelized sugar shell. In my opinion, this makes a solid choice for this food holiday.

Confisco's Islands of Adventure

In contrast, if this May 5th you want to celebrate “National Chipotle Day”, you have other options. Why these two holidays fall on same day this year, I cannot explain. However, I can suggest a solid full-service menu item for this food holiday. At Confisco’s Grille, in Islands of Adventure, guests may order a “Chipotle Chicken Wrap” for $14.95. This wrap comes with fries. The wrap contains grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, cheddar-jack cheese, roasted corn, salsa, and chipotle sour cream. For a review from last year, click here.

Finally, you should have noticed that both suggestions involve food holidays falling on May 5th this year. Even though, in the USA, we celebrate it for different objectives, May 5th equals “Cinco De Mayo.” I respect this would be a large amount of food to eat on one day, but Mexican food of some type should be involved this day, right? Though you may need to make reservations in advance, Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food in CityWalk makes a great May 5th dining option. The menu here offers many non-traditional theme park resort versions of Mexican cuisine. The theming will add to your “Cinco De Mayo” experience.

May 5th looks like a busy food day this week. May all your meals be enjoyable. As always, eat like you mean it!
