I know a lot of people are missing Disney or they are stuck at home and would love a Disney themed treat. We have you covered!
One of our favorite places to eat at the Magic Kingdom is Be Our Guest! Now you can make “The Grey Stuff” at home with no reservations. Plus, it’s really very easy to do! My 12 year old daughter helped me, but younger children should be able to handle this recipe. Of course anything involving sharp objects and adult will have to do.
Here’s what you will need:Â
- 1 3.4Â oz Box of Vanilla Pudding Mix
- 1 1/2 Cups Milk
- 15 Oreos or Similar Sandwich Cooki
- 8Â oz Cool Whip Type Whipped Topping
- 2Â TBSP Chocolate Pudding Mix
- Sprinkles of your choice
Steps:
First thing you want to do is mix up the Vanilla Pudding Mix and the 1 1/2 Cups of Milk. Whisk it together and put it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set-up.
While you have the pudding chilling, get your 15 Oreo cookies and put them through a food processor to smash them up into crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor you could put them in a thicker plastic bag, seal and break up with a rolling pin.
Add the chocolate pudding mix to the cookies and pulse it in.
Mix the cookie crumb/chocolate pudding mixture into the vanilla pudding.
Fold in the whipped topping. Take your time so the whipped topping stays fluffy.
Now you can pipe it or put it back in the refrigerator to set up some more. It will depend on the consistency. If you don’t want to pipe it you can just serve it right now. It’s ready to go.
Piping
If you decide you would like to pipe it, I would recommend a large flower tip. I happen to have a decorating kit, because we decorate here and my daughter loves to create and decorate!
I use plastic freezer bags for piping bags. I have regular piping bags, but for me the freezer bags are easier. You can use a regular piping bag if you prefer.
To make a piping bag out of a freezer bag, just snip off the end and pop your tip into the opening. Then put the large part of your coupler into the tip. Then screw the other half of your coupler together. Voila! Instant Piping bag.
Get a tall mug or glass and place your bag, tip down, inside. Open it up and fold the extra bag around the glass. Fill it with The Grey Stuff, then lift the sides and seal shut.
Pipe a mound onto the center of the plate and then circle it a few times, moving slightly towards center on each turn. Like you would do for a cupcake.
Decorate with sprinkles and other plate garnishes. We used strawberries.
There you have it! The Grey Stuff!
Give it a try and let us know how it turned out!
