Universal Studios Florida’s Battery Park seasonal bar area offers several Universal holiday sandwiches for the season. This holiday location operates through December 31, 2023.

The Battery Park bar resides near the lagoon at Universal Studios Florida. Also, Mel’s Drive-In quick service dining option resides nearby. However, Mel’s Drive-in is closed for refurbishment now.

The Battery Park food and beverage location for the holiday season serves several sandwiches for guests this holiday season. The list of sandwiches includes:

• Turkey Dinner Sandwich – cranberry bread, roasted turkey breast, brie cheese, orange cranberry aioli – $12.99
• 3 Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich – rustic panini bread, sharp cheddar muenster, mozzarella cheese, tomato bacon jam – $11.99
• “VBLT” Sandwich -rustic panini bread, smoked tempeh bacon, Divina tomatoes, arugula, vegan pepper jack, tomato aioli – $12.99
• Chocolate Pressed S’mores – chocolate brioche, marshmallows, chocolate ganache, marshmallow cream, graham cracker crumbs – $10.99
• Mel’s Drive-In Classic Cheeseburger – lettuce, tomato, secret sauce, served with chips – $13.49.

With all these, guests can add a cup of soup for $4.99 more. The soups are savory butternut squash soup and creamy tomato soup. We found both soups provide good flavor pairing well some of these sandwiches, especially the grilled cheese.

3 Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Speaking of the 3 Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich, we felt this was a really well-prepared grilled cheese. Sure, the name of this sandwich sounds very redundant. That should not dissuade you from trying this sandwich. Also, if you spring for the soup, this combo provides an enjoyable meal. The bread, after being grilled, combined with the tomato bacon jam, elevates this sandwich above your average grilled cheese sandwich.

Universal Holiday Sandwiches: VBLT Sandwich

This savory sandwich option returns for another year for the holiday season at Universal Orlando Resort. The vegan item tasted better this year than the version last year. What makes this sandwich worth getting relates to the tempeh bacon, vegan pepper jack cheese, and tomato aioli. When we had it on the event’s opening day, this sandwich was slightly inconsistent regarding spice. However, we thought it still made a far above-average vegan dining option.

Turkey Dinner Sandwich

This year’s version of this sandwich features bread with cranberries in it. The turkey featured with the sandwich tastes well above expectations for a theme park sandwich. We would have liked more flavor from the cheese and orange cranberry aioli, though. Still, this made a nice sandwich pairing well with the soups.

Other Universal Holiday Sandwiches

The Chocolate Pressed S’mores Sandwich provides a solid sweet treat at this food and beverage location. However, with so many excellent sweet treats this year, we would save our money and skip this item.

Regarding Mel’s Drive-In Classic Cheeseburger at this location, we have some thoughts, which we will mostly keep to ourselves. We appreciate that the burger is available while Mel’s Drive-In location is under refurbishment. The only thing we would add is that we appreciate it comes with chips.
