Variety reported that a third season is in the works for the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian. I don’t think anyone is surprised by this. It’s the only recent Disney Star Wars property that fans seem to agree on, and Baby Yoda is worth big money, so a third season was expected.
According to Variety “Sources close to the production have confirmed that creator Jon Favreau has been “writing season 3 for a while,” and that the art department, led by Lucasfilm vice president and executive creative director Doug Chiang, has been creating concepts for Season 3 “for the past few weeks.”
Yet another source came forward and told the site that they started production on Season 3, on 4/20. This makes sense as the second season of the show just wrapped up about a month ago.
No time frame for Season 3 has been announced yet, but Season 2 will be out in October.
