‘Star Wars’ Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano Shows Reportedly In Development For Disney+

According to Fandom Wire Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano live-action shows are both reportedly in the pre-production for Disney+.

Lately, all these announcements fell like Disney is just pointing at characters and saying ‘You get a show, and you get a show, and you get a show.”

Fandom Wire says they can “confirm” that both Boba Fett and Ahsoka will be getting movies or shows for Disney+.

Of course Star Wars fans want the Boba Fett to return to Star Wars, and we know that  Temuera Morrison will be appearing in The Mandalorian Season 2 as either Boba Fett or Captain Rex. Previously Boba Fett was to be a theatrical release “Star Wars Story” film, but after Solo: A Star Wars Story didn’t perform well, they scrapped it and the story goes that it became The Mandalorian instead.

Ahsoka Tano

Boba Fett isn’t the only one who could be featured on Disney+. We already know that Ahsoka, Sabine Wren, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Hera Syndulla are appearing in The Mandalorian Season 2, but now there could be a new series led by Ahsoka Tano.

The new show would reportedly take place after Star Wars Rebels and will allegedly search for Ezra. Of course Grand Admiral Thrawn could be added to the show as well.  On a side note I just love how Disney got rid of the Expanded Universe (EU) and then have no issue picking and choosing characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn to pluck from it and add to their shows when they want to. There are also rumors of Mara Jade, Dash Rendar, and Prince Xizor showing up on Disney+ too.

The new series would be overseen by Dave Filoni, who was the showrunner for Clone Wars and Rebels.

One thing that is interesting though, and a lot of fans have been calling out, Rosario Dawson is set to play Ahsoka in the live-action shows, but her original voice actress Ashley Eckstein wasn’t put in for the role. Eckstein has played the character the entire way through both series and since the beginning in 2008. However, Katee Sackhoff is coming to The Mandalorian to play her Star Wars Rebels character Bo-Katan Kryze. Fans are now asking what’s going on, because we can’t just say they are picking different actors from their voice acting counterparts.

Of course right now it’s all pre-production for both a Boba Fett show and an Ahsoka Tano show. This does not mean that they will go into production, but I think the odds are pretty good. Especially given the fan reception to the idea of a Boba Fett show.
