Disney and Marvel are super desperate to turn their Titanic situation around with ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.’ The media is already in overdrive all talking about how fantastic the film is, a lot of them with the same talking points. Now Disney is allowing 25 IMAX locations to get a screening of the film early on August 18.
If you visit gofobo.com you can schedule showings of the Shang-Chi film more than two weeks ahead of regular theatrical release. Which is likely going to not go over well with most cinema owners, but Disney has already indicated they don’t care. Right now they just want as much money and word-of-mouth buzz on this movie as they can get.
Right now the IMAX theaters listed are: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Los Angeles-TCL Chinese Theatre, Los Angeles-Regal Irvine Spectrum 21 + IMAX & RPX, Miami, Minneapolis- St. Paul, New York, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Saint Louis, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Toronto.
The first showings for all theaters are 7PM (respective to their time zones) on August 18.
