ATTENTION: THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS A RUMOR. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING STORY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.

When Bob Iger returned to the seat of CEO of the Walt Disney Company, one of the first things he did was green-light multiple sequels to animated films. These included Frozen 3, Zootopia 2, Toy Story 5 and lastly, Inside Out 2. The 2015 animated film became a favorite with audiences over the themes of exploring the mind of a young girl and how emotions can affect our decisions.

For a time, some fans have been wondering what a sequel would focus on. The idea of following the human girl Riley as she grows up can be both a fun and horrifying idea. While some ideas of personal growth and dealing with growing up sounds fun, many point out how growing girls experience certain “changes” at a specific age and would most likely not be family-friendly territory.

However, one of the most popular requests from fans is the introduction of new emotions. There are obviously more than just five standard emotions. In fact, in the early concept phase of the film, the setting inside the brain would resemble an office with multiple other emotions in the background. This idea was sadly scrapped.

Now, in a recent report from @CanWeGetSomeToast on X/Twitter, we may have at least four new emotions joining the team. Those being Anxiety, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Envy.

However, sadly, Disgust and Fear will either be recast, have reduced roles, or will be completely removed due to their voice actors, Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling, being unable to reprise their roles due to previous engagements.

Hopefully, this sequel will be a worthy successor to the first as the emotions have become very recognizable characters for Pixar. It would be a shame to see it get the Cars 2 treatment.

What do you think of these new supposed emotions? Are you sad that Disgust and Fear will be replaced? Let us know your thoughts below.
