RUMOR: Chloé Zhao To Direct Kevin Feige’s Star Wars Project

ATTENTION: THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS A RUMOR. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING STORY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.

Chloé Zhao’s new Marvel film The Eternals is getting quite the mixed reaction from both fans and critics. It is currently the lowest rated MCU film to date and has some concerned for the future of the franchise. Regardless, people are talking about it. But even if this film disappoints a new rumor suggests that the film’s director will still take part in another Disney owned franchise.

A report from One Take News stated that a source for them claims that Chloé Zhao will be directing the upcoming Keven Feige helmed Star Wars film. A film that was announced a bit ago and since hasn’t had many updates.

Originally it was believed that Feige would helm the project himself but sources from One Take News say that Chloe is on the top off the list of potential directors. She apparently was chosen due to her expressing her love for the series in the past, not to mention her recent Oscar winnings.

Little is known about this project. A number of Star Wars film projects have been in a slow production pace, from the Taika Waititi film to the now postponed Rogue Squadron film and of course the infamous Rian Johnson Trilogy (Which many suspect has been scrapped).

We will have to wait and see on this one. Disney may decided to not go in this direction after the way ‘Eternals’ underperformed.
