More Information Surfaces About The ‘Avengers: Quantum Encounter’ Aboard the Disney Wish

Next summer the Disney Wish will begin to offer cruises and one of the highly anticipated offerings aboard that ship is the ‘Avengers: Quantum Encounter.’  Now the Disney Parks Blog has given us a better look at what to expect.

We already know that during this will take place as a dining event. The adventure story will play out on screens but now we know that the actual stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will be portraying their characters for the event!

Paul Rudd will portray Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly will be her MCU character “The Wasp,” Anthony Mackie will be playing Captain America, Brie Larson will be in there as Captain Marvel and Kerry Condon will be back as the voice of F.R.I.D.A.Y.  Ross Marquand will be coming in to voice Ultron.

“Avengers: Quantum Encounter” coming to the Disney WIsh

Here’s what the scoop from the Disney Parks Blog:

The show will follow Ant-Man and The Wasp as they host a presentation of the most powerful Super Hero technologies in the world, including a hands-on demonstration of the latest and greatest Pym Tech. But when Ultron turns up with an army of robot sentries eager to take control of this world-changing technology, Ant-Man and The Wasp will need all the help they can get to save the day – calling on Captain America, Captain Marvel and even the brave diners of the Disney Wish for back-up. Oh, and there’s one more Super Hero who will make a surprise appearance during the show. I can’t wait to share more about that at a later date.

What happens next? You’ll have to sail to see …

Disney has designed the actual restaurant in such a way that “immersive cinematic technology” will have screens and special effects built into it to bring the diners into the story.

The filming as already been completed. But since the Wish isn’t completed yet, they are working on getting the scenes set using photo-realistic CGI of the upper decks of the ship for backgrounds.

D23 does have some more information on the experience as well!

While assisting Ant-Man and The Wasp with some small-scale trials (anyone want their oversized luggage shrunk for easy stateroom storage?), guests will be able to engage with a Quantum Core at their table, and when enough of the cores are activated at the same time, the entire venue will become super-charged as energy pulses through the power channels in the walls and ceiling. But trouble arises when Ultron (you can’t keep a good villain down!) shows up with an army of sentients who are determined to get their hands (er, robotic parts?) on the incredible quantum technology. That’s when Ant-Man, The Wasp, and guests—with a little help from Captain America and Captain Marvel—join forces to save the day.

The food options will be based on various settings in the MCU

Food choices will feature a variety of inspiration based on settings within the MCU like African “Wakanda”, Eastern European “Sokovia” and New York City.

Here are some examples of desserts you can expect:

One is a sticky fig pudding, based on Peggy Carter. The second dessert is a flourless chocolate beetroot cake.

If you are a Marvel fan and want to be immersed in the adventure, while having a fun dining experience, make sure to book a voyage on the Disney Wish and check out the Avengers: Quantum Encounter.
