It seems that Letitia Wright has finally returned to ‘Black Panther 2’ after “minor injuries” turned out to be worse than originally thought.

Wright, who plays Shuri, was injured last August on set. Initially her injuries were thought to be minor but by November production was halted. It was said the actress had suffered a shoulder fracture and a “concussion with severe side effects.”

Marvel Studios sent out a memo to the crew at the time indicating what happened and what they expect:

“What we had initially thought were minor injuries turned out to be much more serious with Letitia suffering a critical shoulder fracture, and a concussion with severe side effects. It has been a painful process and Letitia has been home recovering with her doctors and the support of family.

We’ve adjusted our production schedule so she has the time she needs to heal, but there’s only so much we can do without Shuri! We also want to thank Letitia for everything she’s doing to get back to the set – we know how much she loves this role, how tough it’s been for her to be away, and how hard she’s working to recover as quickly as she safely can. We are eagerly awaiting her return and we know we will all come back stronger together.

Now according to the BBC a spokesperson has stated that Wright has recovered and they are back to production on the highly anticipated, second film.

The character of Shuri is said to play a large roll in the upcoming film and Marvel did what they could to work around her injury, but they could only do so much. But a spokesperson for Wright has said “Filming resumed this month as planned and we’re on schedule.

I’m just happy to hear that she is better and the film is getting back on track for it’s November release.
