Hot Toys is adding another figure to The Book of Boba Fett series. This time it’s the KX Enforcer Droids from the flashback sequence. Could Mandalore have been saved if more Mandalorians had followed The Way rather than seeking the Dark Saber and battle?
The KX droid will stand at just over 14″ tall. So yes, it will tower over your other Hot Toys 1/6th scale figures. These figures are priced at $285 and will arrive between April and September 2023.
The last time we saw the KX series of droids was in Star Wars Rogue One, which I think was the only good movie Disney has put out using the Star Wars franchise.
Originally a proud world with a rich warrior culture, Mandalore is home to various clans of Mandalorians™. But during the Great Purge of Mandalore, the planet was bombarded by the Empire and KX Enforcer Droids were dispatched to terminate all survivors…
The KX droid will come with the following features and accessories:
- One (1) pair of hands with fully articulated fingers
- Enhanced articulations on waist
- One (1) blaster rifle
- One (1) blaster pistol
- One (1) Mandalorian helmet with weathering effects
- A specially designed rocky themed diorama figure base
The KX droid will also have light-up LED eyes in conjunction with the rolling eye system. Trust me; this feature makes all the difference when it comes to Hot Toys figures.
While the KX droids were aesthetically interesting, I never found them intimidating, mainly because they looked lumbering cavemen. Honestly, I think the Super Battle Droids from the Clone Wars were better more of a threat. But, if the story group at Lucasfilm believes that the entirety of Mandalore could be wiped out by these Lurch-Bots, then whatever.
