When many people think about Hard Rock Cafes, they think loud music, overpriced themed restaurant, and burgers. Hard Rock Café established themselves based on quality of their burgers. They will be happy to tell you about how “legendary” their burgers are throughout the world. Now, the thoughts about loud music, pricing, and quality burgers are valid. I would not call their burgers legendary. However, they are worth your time if you are a burger fan.
One of the legendary burgers featured is the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. If this sounds like a standard burger you might get at your local bar and grill, you may be correct. However, in my opinion it tastes a little better here. This burger will cost you $17.95. That seem a bit high to me even at theme park resort prices. In my opinion, the superior Rooftop Burger at Bar 17 and Bistro cost basically same price for better quality.
Yet, the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger is described as a steak burger seasoned and seared with a signature spice blend. The flavor of the burger patty is good quality so at least some of this process adds to the burger. Since it is a BBQ burger, you should expect the burger to be topped with house made BBQ sauce. When I have enjoyed this burger, it was more Carolina style sauce with ketchup as a base mixed with molasses probably. However, I lack extensive BBQ sauce expert skills. Still, the sauce does add to the flavor of this burger in a positive way. You can ask for the sauce on the side, if desired.
The other burger toppings are crispy shoestring onions, cheddar cheese, Applewood bacon, leaf lettuce and a vine-ripened tomato. The onions add a nice crunch but have never been great on this burger. The bacon is crispy. In addition, the bacon also added solid flavor to the burger patty itself. Even though it is a BBQ burger, you can taste the cheese within all this flavor adventure. As a BBQ burger, one should expect a potential mess. Ask for a few more napkins or wet wipes with this one.
Now, all burgers are served with toasted burger buns and seasoned fries. If you are not concerned about your health too much, you could upgrade your fries to loaded cheese fries for an additional $2. I have never tasted the loaded cheese fries, but they do look nice and tempting.
This burger will probably not make a top 5 list at Universal Orlando anytime soon. However, this burger will disappoint a burger fan either. Always eat like you mean it!
