Yesterday we reported that there were cuts being made at Walt Disney World. Entire casts were cut from several popular shows and attractions including: Citizens of Hollywood, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review, The Festival of the Lion King, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Finding Nemo-The Musical.
Now we’re hearing the rumor that even more cuts have been made.
According to MickeyBlog.com, they are hearing from Cast Members and/or friends and family of Cast Members that more cuts have been made:
“However since the time that our article has gone to print, several cast members or their family members have reached out to us with news of further cuts. This includes those working on the following productions:Â
- Turtle Talk With Crush – EPCOT
- Jedi Training Academy – Hollywood StudiosÂ
- Main Street Citizens – Magic Kingdom
- Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party– Magic Kingdom
- Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire – Magic KingdomÂ
- Beauty and the Beast Live On-Stage. – Hollywood StudiosÂ
- Green Army Men Drum Corps – Hollywood Studios“
They also have Voices of Liberty posted, but they are scheduled for the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays next month. Not sure if maybe they cut some performers but not all. Most of these shows have been limited or not available since the pandemic.
It has seemed to mostly involve the Equity performers.
Again, no word on if the layoffs are permanent or if Disney plans to bring back the shows later on.
WDW Pro has some more information on the rumors behind the scenes HERE.
Monster Inc. Laugh Floor has been rumored to be moved or end for awhile now, so if it didn’t return I would not be surprised. Hopefully most will come back.
Of course this is all what we are hearing through the grapevine.
Meanwhile they have the money to pay their executives their full salaries and they can move ahead on a Splash Mountain retheme and new entryways to the parks.
