Electronic Arts Reportedly Working On Multiple Marvel Projects

Big time video game developer/publisher Electronic Arts is reportedly working on multiple video game projects featuring Marvel characters, more specifically Black Panther and Iron Man.

Recently industry insider Geoff Grubb the game is being headed up by former Monolith Productions head, Kevin Stephens, at their new Seattle based studio. He goes on to say:

It is a single-player game, it is in very early development, and the game starts with Black Panther being dead. The player is going to take on the challenges of becoming the new Black Panther and that seems to be the set-up for the game.

The idea of an open world Black Panther game does sound interesting. Getting to travel all over Wakanda and protect the kingdom from danger. Though with the real life passing of actor Chadwick Boseman still fresh in people’s minds it may seem odd to have the story begin with him dying.

The next project that is reportedly being worked on is themed after Iron Man. This past June rumors about an EA developed Marvel project were being spread around but recently XboxEra co-founder, Nick Baker, had confirmed that project was the Iron Man project. He says:

Yes, Iron Man is the game that I had heard. Before I mentioned Iron Man, I showed Jeff Grubb my DM that said EA was working on Iron Man. Tom Henderson heard the same. He just wasn’t sure. And part of the reason I never mentioned Iron Man is because it’s super, super, super early. Like, so early, in fact, that there’s a chance it still doesn’t happen. That’s how early this is. It’s, like, ridiculously early.

An Iron Man game definitely has potential. With all the different suits Tony has it can give him quite the arsenal of weapons.
