Disney has just made deep cuts to popular entertainment at the Walt Disney World Resort with layoffs at ‘Festival of the Lion King,’ ‘Finding Nemo- the Musical,’ ‘Citizens of Hollywood,’ ‘Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review,’ and ‘ Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.’But hey we are getting new entryways to the resort.
According to several sources Disney has just gutted several popular and long running entertainment shows and acts at Walt Disney World.
The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review has been performed since 1974 and now the cast is laid off.
The Citizens of Hollywood had already faced cuts a couple of years ago and now all the remaining actors are laid off.
‘Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor” has been closed since the pandemic forced the park closures in March. Now the word is that all the cast has been laid off as well.
‘The Festival of the Lion King’, which is one of my kids favorite shows, and ‘Finding Nemo-The Musical’ have both been closed since March, due to the pandemic. Now they have apparently let all of those Cast Members go as well.
But there’s always the Instagram walls, that’s almost as good right Disney?
No word on whether or not Disney plans on bringing these shows back at a later date, but the executives got their full pay reinstated and they are redoing the entry ways so they match Cinderella Castle.
This was after we lost all the longtime shows at EPCOT’s World Showcase and the Grand Floridian Orchestra. These were all things that make Walt Disney World extra special.
I really have no words. I think the title of “The Most Magical Place on Earth” might not be the case right now.
