Sat on a throne upon the slab where the once-great Jabba the Hutt would lie, a fat Bib Fortuna ran the deceased gangster’s empire. Complacent and cruel, Fortune did not expect a resurrected Boba Fett to barge in, nor did he foresee the bounty hunter shooting him without a word.
The teaser for the Book of Boba Fett was a great kickoff at the end of the second season of The Mandalorian. Sadly the incoming series as a whole didn’t pay off. Regardless of that, Hasbro is giving us something from the series that may well be worth the $229.99 asking price: a Vintage Collection Boba Fett’s Throne Room playset!
This large recreation of Jabba’s former lair is sized for the 3.75″ figures and features several accessories and tiny details that we Star Wars collectors look for. This massive piece is set for release on 9/01/2023.
The pasty-faced Twi’lek, Bib Fortuna, sat on the throne that previously belonged to Jabba the Hut until one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, Boba Fett, took it by force.
- Includes the Bib Fortuna (Tatooine) figure, with Kenner-inspired staff accessory, is presented on a Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett cardback; a great gift for any Star Wars fan
- The Boba Fett’s Throne Room playset can be used to create a full scene inspired by The Book of Boba Fett live-action series with moveable pieces and multiple highly-detailed accessories

What I dig about this playset is that Jabba’s slab is still there, and it’s modular. So, if you’re not thrilled with The Book of Boba Fett (which isn’t a surprise), then you can convert this back into Jabba’s Palace if you have the Vintage Series Hutt figure.
Honestly, this is one of the better playsets Hasbro has created in a very long time, but the price is a bit much. Then again, inflation has put its mark on nearly every industry, so this may be more of a supply issue rather than a “let’s gouge the hell out of Star Wars fans” thing. On second thought… No, it’s gouging Star Wars fans.
As far as Plump Fortuna goes, I prefer Twi’lek’s fate in the original expanded universe books. Check out the video below for more on that.
