Leaving no 20th Century Fox IP unturned, Disney has announced a new series based on the classic sci-fi franchise Alien is coming to FX on Hulu.
Alien is currently in development at @FXNetworks. The first TV series based on the classic film series is helmed by Fargo and Legion's @noahhawley. Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth. pic.twitter.com/KBigUGnXpB

The series is being helmed by Fargo and Legion showrunner Noah Hawley, which is promising, anyway.
What’s curious is that it’s supposed to take place on Earth. Does that mean that it is a follow up to Alien Resurrection, which saw Ripley and Call returning to Earth at the end?
Probably not. But it probably won’t be a follow-up to Ridley Scott’s prequels Prometheus and Alien: Covenant either.
The word on the street is that Hawley wants to ditch the titular Alien and focus on the people. Sounds boring, but who knows.
Like most of the numerous announcements during the Disney Investor Day 2020, details are sparse.
