For many of us, Easter celebrations fall on April 17th this year. I hope these “Top 3” suggestions find you doing well on or after Easter Sunday. Ironically, the Mardi Gras celebration lasts for one more week until April 24.

For this week’s food suggestions, we will have breakfast, lunch, and a savory evening meal (with maybe a milkshake for dessert).

For breakfast, we will venture to CityWalk to Voodoo Doughnut.

One of the most popular doughnuts there goes by the name of “Portland Cream. This doughnut cost $3. This Bavarian cream filled raised yeast doughnut has a obvious appearance. Chocolate tops this doughnut. Oh, there also exists two eyeballs (not scary looking ones!) on top of the doughnut also. These eyeballs represent the vision of the city of Portland. When you check where this doughnut franchise calls home, that reference makes sense.

Guests that enjoy this doughnut speak of how the cream and doughnut match very well in terms of flavor.

For lunch, we must make the trek through Islands of Adventure to Toon Lagoon.

Our journey takes us to Wimpy’s Burgers. This location offers the best in-park burgers. With theme parks full of below average formerly very frozen burgers patties, the “Wellington Burger” makes a pleasant change. This burger comes with curly fries as a side. Some guests comment on how much they enjoy the touch of curly fries as opposed to standard theme park fries. For a longer review, click here.

Finally for our evening meal, we shall venture back to CityWalk.

Toothsome Chocolate factory

Since we made reservations in advance, we deserve the opportunity to dine at Toothsome Chocolate Factory and Savory Feast Kitchen. This place continues to be one of the toughest places in CityWalk to get a table. You will probably need to make a reservation a few weeks in advance for evening seating.

People often forget that Toothsome offers some excellent entrées in addition to their desserts.  The “Brisket and Wild Mushroom Meatloaf” displays this point. The quality of this meatloaf surprises some. In addition, the quality matches the level of the desserts offered here. For a longer review of this meatloaf, click here. Of course, do not forget to leave room for dessert.

If you partake in this week’s suggestions, you will make your stomach happy. Thanks again for reading this week’s “Top 3” Next week, the “Top 3” will be a little different but you will have to wait until then to find out. As always, eat like you mean it!
