Reasonably Priced Shuttle Service from Walt Disney World to Universal Orlando

As Orlando area theme park vacations continue to increase in price, guests look for ways to manage their budget. Transportation costs have increased dramatically over the last few years in the Orlando area. Depending on when you visit Orlando area, acquiring a rental car most likely will induce sticker shock. Parking fees at Orlando area hotels persist in rising also. For Walt Disney World visitors, the discontinuation of the “Magical Express” added to transportation cost issues.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World hotel or a Disney “Good Neighbor” hotel for example, you may want to visit Universal Orlando. How do you get there without destroying your budget? I faced this conundrum when staying recently at the B Resort and Spa in Disney Springs area. Though I enjoyed a leisurely walk from that hotel to Disney Springs, walking to Universal Orlando would be a different discussion.

Of course, I could have used a ride share or a taxi or I could have rented a car for the day. However, since I was a solo traveler, the Mears Connect service fulfilled my needs very well. Perhaps when you hear Mears Connect you think of replacement for “Magical Express.” That is one version of that product. However, if you go to their website and search for shuttle service, you will find the ability to book a trip from any Walt Disney World connected hotel to Universal Orlando.

The reservation through their website was easy to establish. I booked 8:55am for pick-up so that I would have plenty of time to arrive for opening day of Universal Orlando Mardi Gras 2022. The shuttle service sent me a text message to confirm my time on the day before. I went to the lobby of The B Resort and Spa to wait for my shuttle. The shuttle arrived ten minutes early. Also, I had great fortune to be the only one riding in this shuttle.

The van looks like what you would expect, it had plenty of space and offered reasonable comfort. I was picked up at the entrance to the B Resort Lobby then I was dropped off at a shuttle drop-off near the entrance to security for CityWalk. In my experience, the trip happened in a carefree manner. I realize other people using this service may face standard transportation difficulties.

Still, I have not gotten to the best part.

The cost one-way for this transportation equaled only $12. For people staying in the Walt Disney area wanting a day or two at Universal Orlando, this shuttle service might fit your needs. If you are a solo traveler or a group of 2 (maybe 3), this service will cost less than ride sharing. If you fit that criteria, I would recommend this service. Good luck with your Orlando area vacation. Thanks for reading!
