The sequel to the 2018 Venom movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage, is set to release in less than a month. The film already experienced multiple delays due to the COVID-19 Pandemic but patient fans have been anticipating the long awaited follow-up. The film is already generating buzz and discussion on what may be in the film and what might the future be for the series going forward. The film’s director in a recent interview may have shed some light on that.

The film’s director is Andy Serkis, awell known actor for films like the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the 2005 King Kong, the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy and for his role as Klaw in the MCU.

Often credited as the Master of Motion Capture, Serkis is behind the camera in this film and in a recent interview he gave some hope to hardcore fans who want to see the Venom series expand beyond just the main films.

Everyone wants to know when Venom is going to meet Spider-Man, personally, it’s not going to happen. I’m kidding. It’s going to happen, the question is when. We don’t want to rush it.

This hints that Sony may have plans for Spider-Man to tie in with their Venom series. Most People would assume that it would be the Tom Holland version of the character, but that all depends on if Sony is still partnered with Marvel due to the Venom series having little to no connection, same goes for Morbius and the various other spin-off films Sony has planned for various Spider-Man characters. Not to mention if Tom Holland may leave the role after the character is done with the MCU.

As Andy Serkis says it is more or less a matter of time. We waited years to see Spider-Man appear in the MCU, so who knows when this crossover might happen. Only time will tell. The film releases on October 1st in North America.
