Have you ever wondered which states prefer which Disney Park attractions? Well the site Upgraded Points did and they polled people for data to unravel the mystery of attractions by state preferences.

Of course it’s important to point out that this is just for fun and a sampling of only 5,300 people isn’t likely indicative of the preference of an entire state, but it’s a very interesting idea.

In March, 2021 Upgraded Points put out a survey with the question asking what was the respondent’s favorite attraction. They asked about their preference at any park and then at specific parks.

From that they took the date and broke it down by state. The ride with the most likes from that state was labeled the winner for that location.

Here’s what they came up with:

Overall it broke down to these Top 10 Favorites:

  1. Space Mountain
  2. Haunted Mansion
  3. Pirates of the Caribbean
  4. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  5. Splash Mountain
  6. It’s a Small World
  7. Dumbo The Flying Elephant
  8. Avatar Flight of Passage
  9. Carousel of Progress
  10. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Of course this is going by only the 5,300 people surveyed. The article does break down the Top 10 attractions for women and men, but that was determined by the number of people who were surveyed.  Other attractions show up in the top 10 by gender as well. You can see the data HERE.

For extra fun they also broke it down by Park:

Magic Kingdom:

Here are the top 10 favorite attractions at the Magic Kingdom, according to this survey.

  1. Space Mountain (16%)
  2. Haunted Mansion (14.4%)
  3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (9.4%)
  4. Pirates of the Caribbean (9.2%)
  5. Splash Mountain (8.3%)
  6. “It’s A Small World” (5.5%)
  7. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (4.8%)
  8. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress (4.3%)
  9. Dumbo the Flying Elephant (3.9%)
  10. Jungle Cruise (3.7%)

Epcot:

Here are the Top 10 favorite attractions at EPCOT, according to this survey.

  1. Mission: SPACE (22.3%)
  2. Soarin’ (16.5%)
  3. Spaceship Earth (15.8%)
  4. Test Track (13.3%)
  5. Living with the Land (8.6%)
  6. Frozen Ever After (7.6%)
  7. Journey Into Imagination with Figment (5.8%)
  8. The Seas with Nemo & Friends (5.6%)
  9. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros (2.9%)
  10. Turtle Talk with Crush (1.6%)

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

Here are the Top 10 favorite attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, according to this survey.

  1. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (17.8%)
  2. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (15.9%)
  3. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (10.4%)
  4. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run (9.1%)
  5. Muppet Vision 3D (7.5%)
  6. Toy Story Mania! (7.4%)
  7. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (6.8%)
  8. Star Tours – The Adventures Continue (6.7%)
  9. Star Wars Launch Bay (6%)
  10. Slinky Dog Dash (5.1%)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Here are the Top 10 favorite attractions at Disney’s Animal Kindom, according to this survey.

  1. Expedition Everest (19.7%)
  2. Avatar Flight of Passage (17.4%)
  3. Kilimanjaro Safaris (15.2%)
  4. DINOSAUR (14.6%)
  5. Kali River Rapids (9.9%)
  6. It’s Tough to be a Bug (6.6%)
  7. Na’vi River Journey (6.5%)
  8. Rivers of Light (5.7%)
  9. Primeval Whirl (3.1%)
  10. TriceraTop Spin (1.3%)

So there you have it. I think that it’s likely not accurate for every state and I think it would depend on how recent participants visited the parks. Rides from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway might not have been visited by many people yet. Hence they were not listed as a “favorite.”

For reference here’s what Upgraded Points said about their analysis methodology.

We surveyed 5,627 Americans in March 2021. The respondents were a mix of ages and genders but all respondents were 18+ years old. We estimate the margin of error is less than 2.5% with a confidence level of 90%
