Good morning and Happy Sunday! Welcome back to the ninth week of Sunday Showcase. Each week we take a look at one of Walt Disney World’s resorts. This week we will be taking a look at Disney’s Riviera Resort . If you haven’t checked out last’s week’s article, you can do so here. As of writing last week’s article, it slipped my mind that the Boardwalk Inn was the last Deluxe Resort to cover. Beginning this week we begin to take a look at the Disney Deluxe Villas, that are not part of the standard Deluxe Resorts previously covered.
Sunday Showcase: Disney’s Riviera Resort
“Enchantment awaits you at a Resort hotel that’s inspired by Europe and imagined by Disney. Here, you can delight in exhilarating activities, delectable dining and stylish accommodations—from cozy Tower Studios to spacious villas with up to 3 bedrooms.”
Brief History
The history here at Disney’s Riveria Resort is just like the headline says, its Brief. Disney’s Riviera Resort was opened on December 16, 2019. The resort is themed after Walt Disney’s trips and experiences in Europe, and a love of the French and Italian Riviera. The resort’s decor features a collection of his personal travel photos as well as a tasteful incorporation of popular Disney characters throughout the resort. Disney’s Riviera Resort is the first newly-constructed resort to be served by the Disney Skyliner. Ultimately, after just 4 months of being opened, Disney’s Riviera Resort has to shut its doors due to the Pandemic and reopened in July of 2020 after 4 months of being closed.
Rooms and Facilities
Disney’s Riviera Resort is currently configured with 300 villas, ranging from a new 2 Person Tower Studio all the way up to a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa.
