ATTENTION THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS A RUMOR SO PLEASE TAKE THIS STORY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT

British actor Daniel Craig known for playing the iconic character Agent 007, aka James Bond, will be leaving the franchise after his fifth outing as the character in No Time To Die. But after his time in the spy world it appears that the actor could be making his way to the MCU in a surprising role.

Daniel Craig was reportedly approached in 2008 to play the God of Thunder when Marvel was in the early stages on planning the MCU but he turned it down, to which he later regretted. But he may get a second chance at the MCU.

According to a source from The Outlet:

We’re hearing that the studio is open to different possibilities. While we were unable to learn every option on the table, we did learn that they’re talking to him about the role of Wonder Man. This is a role that Marvel has been working on filling recently, so that makes sense from what we learned previously.

Wonder Man was introduced in 1964 in Avengers #9. Initially created just so the company could trademark “Wonder Man” to take a jab at DC. The character is a Hollywood actor turned super hero. He has the abilities of flight, strength, speed and can control ion energy. He is considered one of the Avengers’ more powerful heroes up there with Hulk and Sentry.

If true, this is an interesting casting choice as previously the character of Simon Williams, AKA Wonder Man, was featured in a deleted scene from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Actor Nathan Fillion was seen on movie posters, obviously before the character became a super hero. Looks like another possible case of recasting, which the MCU has done multiple times.

Do you think Daniel Craig will play Wonder Man? Would you like to see him flying around punching bad guys?
