Disney really needs Disney+ to do well so for the May 20th National Streaming Day they are going to really push hard for subscribers. Today they are making announcements and they unveiled a really lame commercial for the event.

Expect many announcements and pushes for buying various streaming services today. Disney didn’t invent Streaming Day, it was actually Roku apparently, back in 2014.
If you follow the #DisneyPlus, #Hulu and #ESPNPlus hashtags today you will get more information on upcoming shows and events.
I have to say as a shareholder, this kind of seems a bit desperate and makes me wonder about the state of Disney+ US subscriber numbers. I hope they aren’t going the way of Netflix. I know overall US streaming is starting to flatline or go down. With impending financial woes for many a lot of stuff is going to get cut.
On the bright side, we should get a lot more information on upcoming shows and movies today! Who knows. Maybe this will all work out for Disney and they get a lot of new subscribers.
