This follow up film to 2018’s anti-hero film Venom, was both a critical and financial hit for SONY, in their continued push to make their own Spider-Man focused cinematic universe.  The film made $469 Million on a $110 Million budget, which in a post COVID-19 world isn’t something to overlook. The film was arguably received more positively than Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which had released a few weeks prior.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is being released to Video On Demand in addition to a physical BluRay and DVD Release. The film will be offered for $19.99 on Vudu and Amazon Prime, with other options such as YouTube soon to follow. In addition the option to digitally rent the film will also be made available.

SONY’s Spider-Man Universe continues to expand with the upcoming Morbius film starring Jared Leto as the living vampire. Other films confirmed to be in development include Nightwatch, Silver Sable, The Sinister Six, Black Cat, Silk, Kraven the Hunter, Jackpot and even Prowler. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is also potentially being added to the universe due to the Marvel-SONY Deal coming to a close. Revolving an entire universe around one hero and their allies/villains would be like DC/Warner Bros. making a Batman Cinematic Universe.

A third and possibly final Venom film is said to be in production with no clear date set for release. It is believed that the Sinister Six film might be made beforehand with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock taking part in the villainous group’s spider hunting.

The film will be available digitally starting December 14th, just in time for all those Venom fans to unwrap under the Christmas tree.
