A former Disney employee has been charged with one count of grand theft of at least $100,000.
Jennifer Alejandra Insuasti, 32, from Kissimmee worked at a Guest Experience Services Coordinator at Disney. Her job was to fix complaints from guests, sometimes with refunds, free tickets or free resort stays.
According to investigators, Insuasti “would directly issue refund money into her own bank account, or bank accounts belonging to her friends and family.”
Disney has handed over records to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The records contained information about 41 fraudulent card refunds and four fraudulent check refunds. The incidents happened between the beginning in March 2016 and continued until into June 2018.
Guest did still receive their refunds, but Insuasti would use accounts from old refunds to cover when she redirected funds to her personal account or accounts that belonged to her family members and friends. Now those individuals are also being investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as well and investigators feel “they had probable cause to prove Insuasti’s brother, sister and brother-in-law and three others committed conspiracy and grand theft.”
Insuasti turned herself in to Osceola County on June 29 where she is being held on $100,000 bail.
