The catchy multi singer song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is the number 1 song in America. It knocked Adele out of the number 1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 with her ballad, “Easy On Me.”

Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the song is featured on the Encanto soundtrack. Encanto is Walt Disney Picture’s 60th Animated motion picture.

It has been many years since a Disney song has graced the number 1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 with “A Whole New World” from Aladdin holding the spot in 1993. “Let it Go” from Disney’s Frozen charted at its highest in the number 5 spot on the Billboard Top 100.

In a recent interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Lin-Manuel Miranda seemed flabbergasted at the news that “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” was charting so highly. He also said that the songs with multiple singers never get as much love as the one character songs such as “Let it Go.”

Lin-Manuel Miranda is a Grammy, Tony, and Emmy award winner with an possible Oscar nomination on the horizon for “Dos Oruguitas” which is also featured on the Encanto soundtrack. If Miranda wins the Oscar, then he will join a small group of artists that are known as having an EGOT. These performers hold an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and a Tony which is quite an elusive feat in Hollywood. Whoopi Goldberg and John Legend are two examples of performers to earn an EGOT. Miranda almost had an EGOT with the song “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana missing out to “City of Stars” from La La Land.

The song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is what’s known as a madrigal. Wikipedia defines a madrigal as a musical composition of various voices – usually three to six. It’s key to also note that the family last name in Encanto is Madrigal.

Not a day goes by that I don’t hear this song or hear about friends hearing this song. It’s quite catchy and easily gets stuck in your head.

Have you played “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” on repeat? Can you recite ever word? Let us know below in the comments.
