We finally have a trailer for the upcoming ‘Willow’ series on Disney+. The new show trailer was unveiled at Star Wars Celebration today (I guess since it’s Lucasfilm’s 50th Anniversary and has Warwick Davis that makes it close enough to Star Wars. Plus Erin Kellyman was in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ as well.
The new show takes place 20 years after the original film and it’s about three women and Willow. But we have Sorsha back (Joanne Whalley) so there’s that.
The three women are Kit the daughter of Sorsha (Ruby Cruz,) Jade who wants to become a knight (Erin Kellyman) and Dove who is in love with Kit’s brother (Ellie Bamber.) From the trailer it can be assumed that Kit is in love with Jade.
Ron Howard, who directed the original film, was also at the event as well as executive producer and co-showrunner, Jonathan Kasdan.
According to SyFy the plot is as follows:
“The series centers around three heroines who leave their village in search of the greatest sorcerer on the planet (aka, Willow). Along the way, they’ll confront other sorcerers, trolls, mystical creatures, and, of course, their own personal demons.”
The show will premier on November 30th on Disney+.
