The 94th Academy Awards will go down as one of the most outrageous award shows in history. When comedian Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s hair, or lack there of, her husband Will Smith walked on stage and assaulted the comedian.
The incident blew up online and became memed and parodied around the internet, cementing the moment in history.
Due to Smith’s actions he has been banned from attending any event held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the next ten years. The academy even considered taking away his award for “Best Actor” but they were ultimately split.
Since the incident Jada’s Red-Table-Talk show on Facebook released a statement about the situation with the Smith family:
“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focusing on deep healing. Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls. Until then… the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest. Thanks for joining us, Jada.“
However, a video recently resurfaced showing Jada recording him on her phone against his wishes to ultimately promote her Red-Table-Talk show. The video seems to indicate a somewhat abusive relationship.

A recent report from O.K. Magazine in the U.K. says that the couple are possibly splitting up, citing that it would be “One of the ugliest divorces in showbiz history”.
A source for O.K. Magazine states:
“Ever since the Oscars scandal, tensions between them have been palpable. There have been problems for years, but they’re barely speaking right now. If they were to split, Will has a fortune of $350 million that Jada would be entitled to half of under Californian law. It could be one of the ugliest divorces in showbiz history and drag on longer than Angelina’s and Brad’s did. Will obviously doesn’t want that, but there is only so much he can take.“
If the two do end up ending it this will definitely be an ugly split, possibly even resulting in a legal battle. It would be up there with other famous splits like Pitt/Jolie or Depp/Heard. Hopefully after this the saga of “The Slap” will finally end.
