Walt Disney World Cast Member Gets Yelled At and Spit On By Disney “Guest”

Today we have yet another story of a poor Cast Member being mistreated by a “guest” who doesn’t like the COVID mandates that allow the parks to stay open.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, last month a Disney security guard reminded a guest to put their mask on before walking into the Contemporary Resort. Masks are required in the public areas of the resort hotels.

After doing their job and reminding the person to wear their mask the man informed the guard “I’m a guest” and then spat on his forehead.

Now I’m going to go off.

Sir, you are right, you are a “guest.” You do not own the property nor do you get to be above the rules. As a “guest” you are there as a priveledge not a right and you are beholden to the rules set forth by Walt Disney World. You agreed to those rules and regulations when you booked your trip.

I don’t care how much better you think you are than someone you don’t behave like that. If you think that staying at a deluxe resort somehow gives you special priveledge to treat others like garbage, you’re wrong.

I was always taught when you are someone’s guest you should behave appropriately and on your best behavior, since it is not your house, or in this case park.

I get so tired of seeing the massive entitlement out of so many guests. Leaving trash in the park or the parking lot for Cast Members to pick up. Demanding ridiculous things because “I’m a guest” or “I paid more money to be here.”  All you are doing is acting like the trash you leave. Class isn’t something you can buy by staying in one of the deluxe hotels.

One Cast Member offered this comment to the Orlando Sentinel:

There’s never a day when I don’t have a story. I cried the first week I started. It was not a good time at all. Imagine going to work every single day where people ridicule you.

If you want so see how these people feel and what they deal with go and read the Orlando Sentinel article, as they have comments from other people, including the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The employees at the parks, or at restaurants, or stores, are just doing their jobs and following the mandates set by the government or their employers. They are trying to keep other “guests,” fellow Cast Members, and themselves safe and keep the parks open by enforcing the rules.  I’m sure many have anxiety about going to work because they know they will have to deal with “guest” like this man and they aren’t paid enough to deal with being spit on, punched, or threatened because people don’t like the temporary rules.

If you don’t like the rules don’t go until they are lifted. But no matter how important you think you are, you aren’t more important than someone else. You are a “GUEST” not the boss. Spitting on someone or hitting someone is NEVER OKAY. They are people too and they are someone’s wife, husband, sister, brother, mother, father, friend, etc.

To the Cast Members and Team Members that put up with this. I’m so sorry. No one should have to deal with this and please know that many of us support you and thank you for what you do. I would hug you, but I can’t.

To the rude “guests” I say “Have a magical day!”

What do you think? Comment and let us know!
