Today, I called into Walt Disney World to upgrade my two ticket orders to an Annual Pass. I had not given any thought to my existing park pass reservations. Before we proceeded, the Cast Member asked me when I was going to be visiting next. I informed him that I would be visiting Magic Kingdom on October 1, 2021 for the 50th Anniversary Celebration kick off.

Walt Disney World Annual Pass Upgrade Issue

The CM informed me that if I had upgraded my ticket today, my park passes would be canceled. This is due to the fact they they were booked as a “Ticket Holder” and not an “Annual Passholder.” As a result of this, I would have been out of luck had he not informed me of this. There are currently no Park Pass Reservations for Annual Passholders for Magic Kingdom on 10/1.

He recommended to upgrade to an annual pass once I had entered the park. Additionally, it must also be done before the end of the day.

Upgrade A Ticket to a Walt Disney World Annual Pass

For those not aware, the price paid for your ticket order can be applied to a new Annual Pass. Your ticket must be either unused or has to be completed before the last day of use to apply the value to a new Annual Pass. It is recommended to complete your upgrade in person by visiting Guest Services.

Annual Passes went back on sale yesterday, September 8 after being unavailable since reopening in July 2020.

I am super grateful to this Cast Member for informing me of this! Had he not, I would have been out of luck and my plans would have been completely wrecked.
