Construction walls have been up in the area formerly known as Future World in Epcot over at Walt Disney World for some time. Fortunately, many of those walls have come down. However, Universal Studios Florida looks more like Wall-Cot than Epcot ever did when it earned that negative nickname. With the closure of Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Café, the hijinks with construction walls expanded exponentially recently.
On Monday June 6th, numerous new construction walls went up for guests to see. Those walls were in addition to many already there. The most notable walls are the ones causing guests to travel near the lagoon to enter Springfield USA and KidZone area. Overnight, walls went up covering a large area across from the Revenge of the Mummy attractions. Another set of walls surrounded the popular Central Park Crepes stand. The largest addition of walls included surrounding Monsters Cafe and the area used for Shrek and Donkey meet and greets. For the record, we know that the Shrek and Donkey meet and greet area is being relocated not eliminated. However, the rumored “Minion Café” looks more likely now.
Why do I say that? Well, on Wednesday June 8th, guests found excellent artwork on the construction walls around Monsters Café. In this case, a photo is worth at least 400 words. The following photos were taken June 8th. For those holding out hope for something besides a new “Villain-Con” attraction and a Minion Café, turn your eyes away quickly.
I know some will deny that more Minions are coming to Universal Studios Florida. However, unless Universal Orlando planned to troll us all, the Minions are coming; the Minions are coming.
No matter your thoughts about Minions, you must give Universal Orlando credit for some extra work. They did not have to create these wonderful amusing Minion themed designs on construction walls. These walls become photo ops for Minion fans. Based on the financial success of Minion franchise, many people will enjoy these sets of walls.
Now, those walls around Central Park Crepes function as another story annoying guests wanting a crepe. The pavement projects around Universal Studios Florida that demand these construction walls should end soon. At least, I hope so! Guard your banana supply if you plan to visit Universal Studios Florida.
