The much anticipated Harry Potter line from Vera Bradley went live this morning, but good luck getting through to actually buy anything.
They added this to Instagram a little bit ago:
The site continues to crash, the phone lines are busy and fans are tweeting their frustration to Vera Bradley on Twitter.
You can’t hype up a collection like Harry Potter like this without your website being prepared 😫

And the fact that it's been 30+ minutes and they arent even addressing it. Yikes

Judging by how wonky the @verabradley website is acting, it doesn’t look good for my #harrypotter purchase 😬

Now it really sucks. I had a bag in my cart and when i clicked on the cart to pay…it disappeared. Not cute magic. #verabradley #HarryPotterXVeraBradley

We’ve been attempting to purchase bags for review all morning, and they’re right — it’s seemingly impossible right now.
Like Shop Disney before them, Vera Bradley seems utterly unprepared to deal with the demand, despite promoting the line for months.
Our experience is that the site will let you add an item to the cart, only to hang for a bit, and when it comes back online your cart is empty.
Now you see it…
Now you don’t! Ta-da… it’s Magic!
So far, it doesn’t appear that scalpers are hoarding the Potter bags for eBay, unlike a lot of recent Disney merchandise. That could change, however.
I guess the recent J.K. Rowling controversy hasn’t impacted demand for Wizarding World product all that much.
