In Orlando area theme parks, you are rarely far from a Starbucks. At Universal Orlando, you can find them both inside the park, CityWalk and at most of the Universal Orlando Resort hotels. All Walt Disney World parks offer Starbucks locations also. Inside each of these Starbucks, you will find what you would expect…a basic Starbucks interior! The menu items will be like your local Starbucks with bakery items, snacks, most teas and coffees, breakfast items, and lunch sandwiches.
On the other hand, there are some unique differences. The main one involves being unable to use “Star” rewards at any Universal Orlando location or any location within a Walt Disney World theme park. However, not all hope is lost for those who enter Walt Disney World. For Starbucks fans, Walt Disney World has one advantage over Universal Orlando.
In my never-ending quest to save money while on Orlando area vacation, savings find a way. During my attempt to eat all the way around Disney Springs, I enjoyed four Starbucks beverages over two days. Also, the best part revolves around the fact I used my “Star” rewards for all those beverages.
How would that be possible? Well, as many of you may know, the Disney Springs locations are a different type of Starbucks. In simple terms, you can use your accumulated “Stars” at the Disney Springs locations. In addition, you can use the Starbucks mobile app to order your Starbucks items. As always, the joy of having your order waiting for you enhances paying nothing for the products.
In fairness, I ordered four times on weekdays from the Disney Springs Starbucks locations. For record, there are two Starbucks at Disney Springs. Each time I ordered; the app said my products would be ready within 5 minutes. In each case, that proved true.
If you are a Joffrey’s fan, I realize this will not help you. However, for those of us visiting Starbucks often, the joy of using “Star” rewards while on your Orlando vacation adds to the fun. Next time, you buy something from your local Starbucks, think that maybe you are earning “Stars” for your vacation. That might help the pain of paying over $10 for a coffee and snack. As always, eat (and in this case drink) like you mean it!
