Top Three Things You Should Be Eating at Universal Orlando This Week (July 3rd, 2022)

In the United States of America, we celebrate the colonial revolution by blowing stuff up and eating food not good for our digestive system. Yes, that is what USA citizens do on July 4th weekend. For all of you celebrating, be safe and have fun. For those of you lucky enough to be at Universal Orlando to celebrate this week, I offer a few food suggestions for the week.

Since the largest number of hot dogs get eaten in the USA on July 4th, we need a hot dog place this week. Luckily, Universal Orlando offers the Hot Dog Hall of Fame in the CityWalk area. If you enjoy hot dogs, you really cannot go wrong with any of these baseball themed options. Also, if looking to feed more than one person, the two-foot hot dog provides great value for about the same as some counter service menu items designed to feed only one person.

Next, a few new menu items popped up at Universal Orlando over the last week or so. The scheduled menu changes at Green Eggs and Ham in Islands of Adventure finally went from an online change to reality. The Brisket Philly Tots were replaced with Pork Carnitas Tots. Early reviews of this sound good. These cost $10.99. The menu description reads roasted pork, jalapenos, tomato salsa, scallions, lime crema and white cheese sauce over tater tots. A full review based on various guest experiences with this new menu item will be coming in future days.

Finally, since July 6th earns the title National Fried Chicken Day, you might want to honor that made-up food holiday. If you want fried chicken but not in nuggets or tenders form, you should go to Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-Pendous. As the restaurant title should indicate, this quick service option resides in Seuss Landing in Islands of Adventure. The fried chicken platter here will cost $13.99. The piece of fried chicken comes with fries, coleslaw, and some cornbread. The fried chicken here will not meet Publix standards but for theme park food court food offers decent taste. However, the rest of menu, including the sides with this chicken, rates below average here.

Once again, I hope you are enjoying (or enjoyed) the holiday weekend here in the USA. As always, eat like you mean it!
