Top Three Things You Should Be Eating at Universal Orlando This Week (July 17th, 2022)

I understand that those of you living in The United Kingdom have been under level 4 heat advisories recently. I fail to understand those levels but let us say it is hot. Of course, many of my UK friends save all year to afford to come to Florida for this kind of heat. However, if you are lucky enough to visit Universal Orlando during the middle of the summer, I have a few suggestions for food/treats to enjoy this week.

For this week’s first suggestion, we go back to the future. We shall venture back into the summer “Tribute Store” In Universal Studios Florida theme park. If you just need a sweet treat, pick up the “Outta Time Vanilla Malt Ball Cupcake.” This cupcake comes with a nice piece of candy on top. This will cost you around $6. If you are a Back to the Future fan, this cupcake will make you smile.

Now, if you prefer the Jaws movie franchise, bring a friend to enjoy this next suggestion with.  The summer “Tribute Store” offers a collectible container and a sugary treat all in one, the “Jaws Fish Bowl Cake.” I did write a review of this earlier in the summer. Though I would not suggest putting fish in this bowl afterwards, it might make a solid souvenir. I also would not suggest using your automatic dishwasher to clean this though. Most of all, prepare for a sugar rush with this Jaws themed treat.

To complete this week’s suggestions, July 17th serves as National Ice Cream Day. I doubt many of us need reasons to eat more ice cream. The summer heat works as a good excuse to eat more ice cream though. In this strange world of food holidays, ice cream comes up often. Yet, what about our friends that have dairy allergies or are lactose intolerant? Do they have an ice cream option at Universal Orlando? Normally, I recommend the “Silk” chocolate frozen dessert at Cold Stone Creamery in CityWalk in this case. However, this location changes products offered often.

If that becomes unavailable, remember “Dole Whip” appears in several locations at Universal Orlando like Schwab’s Pharmacy and Wimpy’s Burgers. I know this technically does not qualify as ice cream. However, the refreshing flavor should be close enough for most. Also, as of time of writing, the price point remains reasonable for theme park desserts.

Next week, we will be venturing into The Today Café and a few other locations at Universal Orlando Resort. Thanks for reading. As always, eat like you mean it!
