Welcome to our weekly adventure exploring three food suggestions to enjoy at Universal Orlando this week. This week, our food tour takes us to Universal Studios Florida theme park. The rest of Universal Orlando Resort will be overlooked this week. Of course, based on the summer “Tribute Store” being in full swing, we will venture in there. In fact, our first two suggestions this week come from that store.
Universal Orlando veterans have strong feelings about the former Back to the Future attraction. Even though it was not one of the original attractions at Universal Studios Florida, it arrived early on in the theme park’s history. In honor of that movie and attraction, Universal Orlando is selling an “Outta Time Brownie” in the summer tribute store. This brownie comes decorated with a piece of chocolate on top. Universal Orlando offers some type of brownie during all seasonal food programs. These taste extremely rich. If you enjoy rich dark chocolate, then go back to Universal Studios Florida to have one.
Universal Orlando also offers an adorable “E.T. Basket Cake” within the tribute store. The fondant creates the shape of the basket that E.T. rides in the movie. The major flavors shining with this treat are cookies and cream. A well-done chocolate cake also forms a base within this tribute to a classic movie and attraction. A more detailed review can be found here.
Our final stop for this week walks us over to Finnegan’s Bar and Grill. Recently, they added two new desserts. My suggestion for today is to bring us to a Universal Orlando version of bread pudding. The Apple Caramel Bread Pudding replaced the previous version of bread pudding here. These feature warm cinnamon apple bread pudding, served with Magners apple cider, caramel, and vanilla ice cream. Based on early guest reactions, this dessert serves as a large step up for Finnegan’s.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Next week, we will spend a little more time in the summer Tribute Store and The Today Café. Of course, we might get some big theme park food announcement between now and next week. If so, we will strive to update you. As always, eat like you mean it!
