We have entered the first full week of August 2022. For full disclosure, I am writing this week’s “Top 3” a bit earlier than normal in preparation for a few work-related trips. I suspect that we will have full announcements for Universal Orlando passholder days info since that starts on August 15th. Of course, this is Universal Orlando. Within a month of Halloween Horror nights, only 40% of the house have been announced and very little else in preparation for guests. So, for Halloween Horror Nights fans, the torture continues. As a result, I will try to lower the potential anxiety with some solid food suggestions for this week related to the national food holidays.
On August 10th we have National Smores Day. Like many food holidays, I failed to be aware of this one. I possess no ill-will to the smores marketing companies. If you elect to celebrate this day, I offer the ideal suggestion. You should order the “Tableside Smores” from Bigfire American Grill in Universal Orlando CityWalk. These tableside smores arrive at your table with many ways to enjoy. The flame in the middle makes for a fun way to enjoy your smores here.
To combine two food holidays into one, we will enter Universal Studios Florida theme park. This excursion takes us to San Francisco Pastry Company. With a National Zucchini Day (August 8th) and a National Panini Day (August 11th), the “Veggie Press” here offers a good selection. The “Veggie Press” currently costs $12.99. It comes with a side of potato salad and some fresh fruit. The menu description reads “roasted portobello, peppers, zucchini, carrots, vegan jalapeno cheese, (and) sun-dried tomato pesto served on cranberry artisan bread.” Based on getting a sandwich and two sides, this menu items gets high marks in terms of value for your money.
Yet, if you desire high quality at a much higher price, follow me to The Palm restaurant within the Hard Rock Hotel. August 13th brings us National Filet Mignon Day. The best steaks on Universal Orlando property reside at The Palm. I will let you try the steaks here since I lack the words to describe them properly.
Once again, thanks for coming along on this journey. If plans remain the same, I will be in-between work-related trips. Some parts of those trips will allow me to gather some theme park news in unexpected places. Of course, passholder days start at Universal Orlando next week so perhaps some food suggestions will come from that menu. Though I suspect two very popular places in Universal Orlando CityWalk will feature prominently next week. As always, eat like you mean it!
