Top Three Things You Should Be Eating at Universal Orlando This Week (April 10th, 2022)

This year, the middle of April showers Universal Orlando with visitors. Universal Orlando expects large crowds reaching an apex April 11th through 17th. For those of you unaware, this week makes up a busy Spring Break week for many USA school systems. In addition, April 17th is Easter Sunday in most Christian faith traditions. That weekend tends to draw crowds since more people have time away from their responsibilities. ‘

So, what things do I suggest eating at Universal Orlando this week?

First, The Today Café in Universal Studios Florida continually offers new bakery treats. Recently, they added a new treat. This one goes by the name of “White Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Mousse.”  A white chocolate mousse provides most of the substance of this treat. A relatively thin layer of strawberry mousse covers the outside. In typical Universal Orlando fashion, this mousse treat will be presented to you with a decorative piece of chocolate on top.

Next, since National Grilled Cheese Day falls on April 12th, you might want grilled cheese. Though the resort hotels offer some solid grilled cheese sandwiches, the signature one lives at Mythos Restaurant in Islands of Adventure. The very popular “Fork, Knife and Spoon Grilled Cheese” features a unique twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. This entrée costs $17. Mythos describes this sandwich as a classic 3 cheese sandwich set in a Tuscan tomato soup with crispy pork belly and garnished with house made chips. Also, the flavors offered reach table service style dining level. Also, you may request the sandwich outside the soup bowl as normally served. Since this week will be busy, I suggest making a reservation now.

Finally for this week, National Eggs Benedict Day falls on Saturday April 16th this year. You might want to start your Easter weekend with breakfast at Hard Rock Café in CityWalk. This place offers breakfast from 8am-10am every day. The Eggs Benedict here provides solid flavor and decent portion size. For a longer review, click here.

Thanks for coming along on this culinary adventure. May you have a wonderful Easter holiday.

As always, eat like you mean it!
